I am an abstract painter based in Berlin. Born in the US, raised in western Germany, and drawn to the city that suits me best.

Trained and working as a designer for over a decade, I always moved in the space between logic and aesthetics. Painting gave me something design rarely could: the freedom to begin with an intention and let the rest follow instinct.

Colour is where it usually starts. A combination I spot on a walk, in a room, or nowhere in particular. And suddenly I need to find out what it does on canvas. The results range from soft, atmospheric scapes to paintings driven by dynamic, physical brushwork.

I paint because it's joyful. And if that feeling carries over to whoever lives with the piece, all the better.
